Mini-Project

Remember my post {spray} paint newbie from last week? I said that I was going to work my way up to painting larger pieces of furniture. Practice makes perfect, right? Plus, if I start with something small and mess up, it's not as big of a deal! I told you that I had finished a little mini-project and promised to share the outcome, so here it is.

I started off with a little side table that I found at The Christmas Tree Shop
when we were living in NY a couple of years ago. **Side note: if you have never been to a Christmas Tree Shop you should definitely go sometime! They can have some really great items at really great prices!**

The yellow {the colour it came as} worked out great in the spare room of our old home; but as of late, I haven't been loving it and the colour doesn't quite jive with where it's at now {the living room}. So I thought it would be a perfect item to spruce up with some paint!

Here's a before picture:

I first wiped down the piece with a damp cloth and let it dry. Then I got right to the priming. Since this piece is so small I went with spray paint. It's so easy!!

Here it is primed & still looking slightly buttery...

And here is the finished product - a lovely white!

I'm really happy with how it turned out.

It's the perfect size to host some of my fave reads. One of my new bowls even found a home nestled on it. Like I said, I'm really happy with the outcome and now I can't wait until I have some time to tackle a bigger project!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Psssst....I'm sharing my mini-project over at Simple Home Life's link-up party today! Check out the Simply Creations link-up here. Lots of great things to look at!

  1. What a cute little corner you got there! It looked great with the books and the bowl on top.
